Vathy town has a big port for cruise lines, and some small ferries dock at another town called Pyhtagorion, a more popular town compared to the rest for its cafes, restaurants, yacht harbor and many small hotels. Pythagorion is also the home town of the famous ancient philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras (BC 570 – 495).

Samos has beautiful gulfs and beaches. Samos Beaches are relaxing and great for swimming and snorkeling. Renting a scooter or a car are the two best ways to visit the island. There are little mountain-top villages, beautiful and tranquil beaches and cute towns not to be missed.
